Why Paintledger?

Because four months after you finished a squad, you cannot remember which red you used on the cloaks, which wash tied the recesses together, or the order the highlights went in. Paintledger is a record book for that, not a social app or a project manager.

Does it sync across devices?

No, and that is by design. Paintledger is offline-first and pure-local. There is no account, no cloud, and no server-side copy of your data. To move to a new device, use the backup export on the old device and backup import on the new one.

Can I import my existing paint inventory?

Yes. In Settings, use Import Backup to load a Paintledger backup JSON file. The format is documented in the exported file itself. Import is add-only by UUID, so it will never overwrite an existing record.

How do I export a recipe?

From a unit's Recipe tab, tap the share menu. You can share a 1080x1080 recipe card image (free), or with Paintledger Pro export a multi-page PDF that includes the cover, area breakdown, and stage-by-stage paint list.

What paint brands are in the catalog?

Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, AK Interactive, Scale75, and Monument Pro Acryl. You can also add your own custom paints if you use a brand or recipe the catalog does not cover.

What is the free tier?

You can create unlimited projects. Each project on the free tier supports up to 3 units, and you can add up to 10 of your own custom paints across the whole app. The bundled paint catalog is fully available at any tier.

How much is Paintledger Pro?

A single one-time in-app purchase of $6.99. No subscription. Pro unlocks unlimited units per project, unlimited custom paints, and PDF recipe export.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and transfers automatically.

Nothing happens when I tap Buy.

Check your internet connection and try again. If the paywall says the store failed to load, close and reopen the app so it can retry fetching products. If you already purchased on another device, tap Restore Purchases instead of Buy.

The camera is not available.

Paintledger asks for camera access the first time you try to capture a stage photo. If you denied the permission, re-enable it in iOS Settings > Paintledger > Camera. You can also attach photos from the Photos picker without granting camera access.

My backup import did not bring back a project I deleted.

Import is add-only by UUID. If the project still exists with the same ID, the import will report it as a conflict rather than overwrite. Delete the conflicting record first and re-import, or export a fresh backup before making destructive changes.
