Linewright by 9592 Solutions UG (haftungsbeschrankt)

The Short Version

Linewright is an offline-first iPad screenwriting app. Your scripts live on your device. There is no account, no login, no signup, and no server that stores your script content. The only things that leave your device are an anonymous stream of usage events (described below) and — if you turn it on — iCloud Drive sync of your script files between the Apple devices on your own Apple ID.

Data Stored On Your Device

All the script content you create or import is stored locally on your device:

- Fountain (.fountain) script files - The .linewright/ sidecar directory next to each script (outline notes, beat cards, character voice references, revision history) - Apple Pencil annotations on imported PDFs - App preferences and settings

We never see any of this, because there is no server that receives it. If you delete the app, the local copy is gone.

iCloud Drive

When you enable iCloud sync, Linewright stores your .fountain files and their .linewright/ sidecars in your own iCloud Drive container. Apple's iCloud Drive then syncs those files between the Apple devices signed in to your Apple ID. We do not see your iCloud content; only you and the Apple devices on your iCloud account do. The terms that apply to that content are Apple's standard iCloud terms.

On-Device AI

Linewright includes a Character Voice Check feature that uses Apple's Foundation Models framework to analyze your characters' voices for consistency. This runs entirely on your iPad. Script content NEVER leaves your device for AI analysis. There is no cloud AI provider in the loop — no OpenAI, no Anthropic, no Google, no Linewright server. The model is the on-device language model that Apple ships with iOS 26, the same way the iOS keyboard's predictive text runs locally.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

Linewright uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous product analytics so we can see which features get used and where the app falls short. This is the only outbound data stream in the app.

What Mixpanel receives:

- **Feature-use events**: which features were opened, paywall conversion funnel (paywall shown, paywall dismissed, purchase started, purchase completed, restore attempted), AI feature usage counts. - **Device and app metadata**: app version, build number, operating system version, device model family (for example "iPad" or "iPhone"), and an environment label (simulator, debug build, TestFlight, or App Store). - **A random anonymous identifier**: a UUID generated the first time the app launches and stored locally on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, phone number, advertising identifier, or any other personal detail.

What Mixpanel does **not** receive:

- No script content. No scene text, no dialogue, no action lines, no scene headings. - No character names from your scripts. - No Apple Pencil drawing bytes or annotation content. - No file names or project titles you have authored. - No names, emails, phone numbers, or other personal information. - No IDFA (advertising identifier). - No location data. - No photos.

The app's privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking=false. Analytics events are associated only with the random anonymous identifier; Mixpanel is configured for product analytics, not advertising, and the data is not shared with any third party for advertising purposes. The test suite includes a regression check (AnalyticsEventCatalogTests) that fails the build if any event payload includes a field name that could carry user-authored content — this restriction is enforced in code, not just in policy. You can read Mixpanel's privacy practices at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

In-App Purchases

Linewright is a one-time purchase. The free download includes a try-before-buy experience; unlocking the full app is a single $19.99 in-app purchase (Base Unlock). An optional $29.99 Pro Tools purchase adds production tooling. Both are one-time purchases — there is no subscription. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple receives standard transaction metadata. We do not have access to your payment information, and there is no third-party payment processor in the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your script content lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. If iCloud sync is on, the iCloud copy lives in your iCloud account for as long as you keep it there. To delete everything from your device, delete the app — your local script files and the analytics anonymous identifier are removed with it. iCloud copies remain in iCloud until you delete them from your iCloud account.

Analytics events that have already been sent to Mixpanel are retained according to Mixpanel's standard 5-year retention policy for product analytics. To stop sending future analytics events, delete the app.

Children

Linewright is a screenwriting tool intended for an adult audience. It does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13, and nothing in the app is directed at that audience.

Your Rights

Linewright is developed by 9592 Solutions UG (haftungsbeschrankt), based in Germany. Under the GDPR you have the right to access and erase any personal data a controller holds about you. Because no personal script content is transmitted to or stored on our servers, the right to erase script data is fulfilled by deleting the app from your device (and removing iCloud copies from your iCloud account). For the anonymous analytics stream, email support@9592.tech and we can request deletion of the events associated with your anonymous identifier on a best-effort basis.
