Common Questions

Is the scorer free?

Yes. Scoring your own games and tracking your average, series, and spare/strike stats are free, forever, with no ads.

What does the league unlock include?

A one-time purchase unlocks the league tools: rosters and schedules, automatic handicaps and team points, standings, a shareable and exportable standing sheet, week-by-week review and recompute, and end-of-season prize-fund splitting.

Is it a subscription?

No. The league features are a one-time purchase — never a subscription. The bowler's view of the standings is always free.

How are handicaps calculated?

Lanebook uses the standard formula — (basis minus average) times percentage, with the fraction dropped — and you can configure the basis (200 to 240) and the percentage (80, 90, or 100 percent). Entering-average and first-games rules, blind, absentee, and vacancy scoring, and team points are all handled.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. We have no servers and cannot access your scores, rosters, or standings. You can export a backup of your league data at any time.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap "Restore Purchases" on the unlock screen. Your unlock is tied to your Apple ID and transfers to your other devices automatically.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual games, leagues, or seasons in the app, or delete the app to remove all data.
