Privacy Policy

Summary

Beakly is local-first. Your bird's health data — daily weights, dropping photos, molt notes, and any PDF you export — stays on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud sync of your bird's data. We have no servers that store it and no way to read it.

Data Stored on Your Device

Beakly records the information you enter — your bird's weights, droppings observations, photos, molt status, and notes — locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it (for example, by exporting a PDF and sending it to your vet yourself). We cannot access it.

Third-Party Analytics

Beakly uses Mixpanel for anonymous product analytics, so we can understand which features are used and where the app falls short, and improve it.

What Mixpanel receives:

- Anonymous product-usage events (which screens you open and which actions you take, such as logging a weigh-in or generating a PDF) - Technical metadata: app version and device type

What Mixpanel does **not** receive:

- Any personally identifiable information — there is no account, so no name, email, or phone number - Your bird's health data — no weights, droppings, photos, molt notes, or PDFs - The advertising identifier (IDFA). Beakly does not use the IDFA, so it shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Analytics events are associated only with a random, app-generated anonymous identifier, and the data is not shared with any third party for advertising purposes. You can learn more about Mixpanel's privacy practices at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Subscriptions

Beakly offers an auto-renewable subscription with a 7-day free trial. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or have access to your payment details. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.

Children's Privacy

Beakly is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Not Medical or Veterinary Advice

Beakly helps you track trends and flags a notable weight drop as a prompt to contact your vet. It is a logging and early-warning tool, not a diagnosis. Always consult an avian veterinarian for medical decisions about your bird.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
